01

Arriving by road

Fern Glade Estate is near Cherakara Post in Tavinjal, outside Mananthavady. Ask the host which final route to use because road and weather conditions change.

Use navigation apps for the main journey. Before the last hill section, call the host and follow the current directions. Keep the phone number available while you drive.

02

The final hill approach

The last stretch is an uneven hill road that can become muddy. A confident driver is useful, especially during the monsoon or after heavy rain. First-time visitors and groups with several vehicles should arrive in daylight.

  • Contact the host before beginning the final stretch
  • Prefer a confident, experienced driver
  • Allow extra time rather than rushing after dark
  • Check the weather when travelling during the monsoon

03

Rail and air connections

Wayanad has no railway station. Many visitors arrive by rail through Kozhikode. Calicut International Airport and Kannur International Airport also connect to Wayanad by road. Travel time depends on the route, traffic and hill conditions.

Book your road transfer before arrival and tell the host when you expect to reach Fern Glade. Groups will find one shared vehicle plan easier than several separate arrivals.
